How to Complete Your

Background Checks

You will need to complete your background check authorization with Sterling Volunteers. Sterling Volunteers will ask you to create a login with them, which will allow you to share your background check with other organizations, potentially saving you money when you volunteer elsewhere in the future. *Please refer to the BACKGROUND CHECK INSTRUCTIONS that were included in the volunteer application.

1. Complete the fields to create an account and click "Submit."

2. Click "Get Verified."

3. Input the Corresponding "Good Deed" code. This code will depend on your desired level of screening.

   1. Level 2: ​Volunteers Not Working With Survivors - Use Code: dhofni2

   2. Level 3: Volunteers Working With Survivors - Use Code: 91urenw

4. Complete the Form and Submit.

You will be notified by Freekind once your background check has been approved.
