Freekind 2023 Annual Report

Together, we are
making a difference.

Prevention

Because more than 90 percent of the survivors we meet experienced some sort of abuse in childhood that made them more vulnerable to traffickers, we are committed to preventing the next generation from being exploited. That’s why we offer our award winning Prevention ProjectTM program to middle schools, high schools and youth groups. This nationally recognized, survivor informed curriculum has now reached 21 states including Virginia.

Restoration

In 2015, we were serving less than 20 survivors. Today, we serve over 160 survivors annually. On average, we identify 50 new survivors each year; match 30 to treatment programs; advocate for alternative sentencing more than 250 times, reducing harm for criminalized victims. Through our specially trained volunteer survivor advocates, we provide transitional support with food, clothing, shelter, and transportation. In collaboration with community partners we support survivors with trauma informed counseling, in economic empowerment and safe permanent housing.

Join us in building offramps to freedom.

With an investment of just $1 per day, you are helping make it possible for students to receive prevention education. And for just $5 per day, you are helping create a pathway to freedom for a survivor of human trafficking to reclaim the freedom stolen from them by their trafficker.
